Can I Take My Power Bank on a Plane?

Portable chargers are increasingly becoming an integral part of people's daily lives. Keeping your phones, tablets and cameras charged is especially crucial while traveling. Follow these guidelines to ensure worry-free travel with your external battery.

Lithium-Ion Capacity Guidelines

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) allows lithium-ion battery packs to be transported as carry-on only. The maximum energy capacity is 100 Watt-hours per battery. The capacity must be printed directly on the battery itself so those enforcing FAA guidelines are able to ensure that the battery is approved for travel.

Note: The FAA does not allow power banks to be stored in checked luggage.
